Appropriate way of breathing


We spend so much time learning about everything else in life but know very little about our "own life". The first thing we did when we came into the world was taking in a deep breath. The last thing that we will be doing in this world is breathing out. Between these two breaths lies our whole life. Yet, we never attend to our breath. It keeps changing. We breathe differently for every emotion. It also indicates the status of physical fitness and mental alertness. As soon as we become aware of our breathe, we become physical fit and also mentally alert.


Breath also keeps the mind and body in proper functioning. The right way of breathing is necessary to reduce stress ans stay healthy. Appropriate way of breathing gives following benefits
1. Improves the quality of blood by elimination of toxins from the body.
2. Increase in the digestion and assimilation of food.
3. Improvement in the health of the nervous system, including the brain, spinal cord, nerve centres and nerves.
4. Rejuvenation of the glands, especially the pituitary and pineal glands.
5. Rejuvenation of the skin because reduction of facial wrinkles occurs.
6. Deep, slow breathing assists in weight control. If you are overweight, the extra oxygen burns up the excess fat more efficiently.

7. Relaxation of the mind and body. Rhythmic breathing causes a reflex stimulation of the parasympathetic nervous system, which results in a reduction in the heart rate and relaxation of the muscles. These two factors cause a reflex relaxation of the mind, since the mind and body are very interdependent.
