Living Spiritually - by upma

Discover yourself by self-exploration techniques

Part ii

1. De-addict for dignity - Drop the Big Five --- smoking, boozing, overeating, bitching and complaning. These aren't you. When you help yourself to live a healthy dignified life, providence co-operates fully. Practise for progress, not for perfection.

2. Tell the truth - Don't force a smile and say, "I'm fine" when you are not. This habit of pretence weakens you and fills you with fear. Be positive without telling a lie. Say, "It hurts, but it will improve" or "God will make it okay".

3. Respect your style - Be the empress of your environment. Respect your style. Trust your instincts. When you live by your nature, you librate the fullness of your spirit.

4. Live meditatively - Never ever think "I can't do this because I'm a woman" or " I'm alone". Don't do this to yourself. Think constantly, " I can. I am strong. I am blessed" because this is what you really and trully are.

5. Chant a melodious mantra - When assailed with fear chant Om for 15 minutes daily. The vibes of the mantra change the vibes in your mind and make it more receptive, open, compassionate. In this wonderful state, resolve to drop dead memories, egoistic prejudices, negative thoughts, futile expectations from others. Soon, you experience your own limitless, joyous, contented nature that you read about in spiritual books.

6. Be different - It's good to be different. Differences add color, variety, richness to life. Different musical instruments make a beautiful harmonious orchestra. So, don't feel you have to blend into the ways of your peers, in - laws, spouse, etc. Be centred, calm, wise, happy, peaceful, fluid, flexible. Know you are unique, wonderful person full of endless potential and be willing to be surprised at the greatness that often spills out of you.

Excellent advice upma, and I love the pictures, and I've gotten THERE without any of the self-talk, I just went out and did it.

Love the pictures, but mantras etc can be a cop out in themselves, always reassuring yourself but never doing it, just a thought, I loved your article, it gave some very good advice.
