If Not You, Then Who?
September 22nd 2006 23:57
There is no shadow cast by the sun anymore on this day in most of the world. It's now the year 5767 in the Jewish calendar. The Jews are beginning their 10 days of repentence that is Rosh Hoshana. The shofar has beckoned, its call has been answered.
In reality, that call to introspection and deeper awarness is sounded in each of our souls every day. It begs that we eagerly answer it so we can benefit from the goodness and greatness that waits for us.
The divine essence is deeply woven into each of our blessed spirits and, therefore, we have a divine responsibility, not only to ourselves, but to each other. My therapist quotes from his therapist: "We are already divine, now we need to become more human".
What if all of us decided to devote ourselves to mending those relationships we've damaged? What if we and every single person we meet makes a little bit of effort every day to discard the carlessness and ill will that smothers, sickens and darkens so many of our dealings with each other? Why not start with one kindness carried out, one sharp word unspoken. The good ones or the bad ones, our actions always come back to us.
If we can only learn to see life with the awe it deserves and commit ourselves to paths of positive change, it will naturally follow that we'll begin to notice the changes in the world around us.
Is it so difficult to pray some, to concentrate just a little bit every day on spiritual matters? No it's not. So go for it. It's a very small effort for a very big prize.
Who's gonna answer that call, if it doesn't start with you?
Peace

I like the work by Dr. Joe Vitale, called "Spiritual Marketing" in it he gives us a blueprint for success that requires that we look inside ourselves for the keys to making each project a success. In 5 simple steps we transform our duties from merely "duties" to "Partnerships" with the Spiritual side of our Selves.
This allows us to go about our daily lives, not changing our actions, but our attitudes about our actions, making every action we take more effective, and more productive for everyone involved.
great post.

What you said about changing attitudes rather than actions is so true. And it reminds me that it's better to respond than to react.
Thanks

He is one of those "internet anomalies" He started studying hypnotism at age 16, then at some point, got into metaphysics (one of his doctorates is in Metaphysics) Then apparently Internet Marketing. He's written about 100 books on everything from Internet Marketing to Emotional Freedom Technique, also the best sellers "Attractor Factor" and "Spiritual marketing" (Amazon.com #1's, both of them) and he's got a Nightingale-Conant audio course called "The Power of Outrageous Marketing"
He's been called the Pioneer of Hypnotic Writing. I believe it, which is why he is one of my favorite authors. Go check on it. I've got a video of Him and Pat O'Bryan playing "crossroads" on the back porch of Pat's house, I love it.
Have you ever seen the movie "The Secret"? He's the one with the crystal around his neck.
