Living Spiritually - by upma

Discover yourself

"What should I do with my life or in my career” is a question of everyone who is disappointed, puzzled, defeated by self’s expectations. There are few ways by which you can discover yourself and precede a positive, successful life.

1.Trust transformation. Hard times are a natural part of life because life is a continuous measure of our potential, the greater we stretch our capabilities the more we can gain from life.

2.Take the first step to make changes in your life and keep it in daily life.

3.Practice to hear your true desires through inner voice. Let the inner voice take the shape and steer of your life.

4.Dwell in possibilities. Explore your life and unearth all the things that brings you joy.

5.Happiness is a demand of every human being. No one wish to live a sorrowful life. So, take an opportunity to appraise your happiness and see yourself that you are fulfilled with your desires.

6.Be patient. In every life, there’s a fast road and a slow road. Most of us take the slow road. Keep your commitment and take small steps to make it happen.

Subsidiary effect of common cold

Common cold is a very common disease seen every where but the side effects often seen are not observed by every one. Today in the news paper I read the notes of survey of AC Nielsen for a pharmaceutical company.

As common
cold is the contagious disease which can heal without antibiotics, they just need symptomatic treatement. Indians prefer to take a lot of precautions like affected mothers tend to stay away from their little ones, fearing instant transmission.

A majority of urbanites suffering from sniffles affect the productivity in office. 29% tend to leave work early, while 23% simply stay at home.

30% of men want to be left alone, they abstain from sex. 27% women and 25% men avoid kissing while nursing runny noses and fighting general discomfort. Overall, 18% of those surveyed even avoided holding their's parteners hands. The only silver lining to this fact is 18% of the men felt that women sounded sexy on the phone when they had a cold.

58% of mothers ensured that their children didn't play with other children suffering from a cold and 81% of over-protective mums don't allow their children to play outside if the sky is cloudy.

The survey found that 57% of women rushed to doctors as compared to 47% men. People are least social while battling the snifles.

Letting the Curves Take You

Trying to maintain control in this life is a bit like trying to maintain control on a roller coaster. The ride has its own logic and is going to go its own way, regardless of how tightly you grip the bar. There is a thrill and a power in simply surrendering to the ride and fully feeling the ups and downs of it, letting the curves take you rather than fighting them. When you fight the ride, resisting what’s happening at every turn, your whole being becomes tense and anxiety is your close companion. When you go with the ride, accepting what you cannot control, freedom and joy will inevitably arise

Grief and Belief..why here and now?

What the hell am I still doing here? Why do I put up with this? Why the...bloody hell…just why?? Questions always unanswered, never knowing where the next meeting will be …how come.

Look into the mirror! Lifting my tear streaked face to look into the blasted bathroom mirror. Looking in to the mirror – will it show my soul? Will it help cleanse the pain? What will the face of grief look like?

Bring On The Equalizer

For a long time, we've been told to basically wish our way to fulfillment with positive thoughts. We've been taught to "see" ourselves in wherever we want to fit in this world and it will be so. I really like that idea and I think it does work, but now I'm hearing that the "positive thinking=satisfaction and fulfilment" equation is missing an ingredient. Negativity.

Yep. That's the talk around the part of town I visited. (And, please forgive me for not remembering exactly where I visited. I forgot to bookmark the page.)

May I Have My Attention, Please?

It's a five-letter, two-syllable word and it's so quick to fly out of mind. Only a five-letter, two-syllable word that can make or break us, that can be the difference between a banner day and a knee-scraper. If you think the word I'm thinking is "focus", you're right.

Sometimes I wonder if we don't try so hard to stay so focused that we overload our brains and force them to vacate the premises. You've had the experience, I'm sure. It happened to me this morning. I was writing and about three sentences into a paragraph I had no idea what I was doing. During the few seconds It took for me to gather my thoughts again, I felt like I'd been suddenly put back into my body, but had no recollection of where I'd been.

It's Not Personal, I Do It For Me

I've never heard anyone disagree with the wisdom don Miguel Ruiz lays out for us in The Four Agreements. Perhaps that's because no one can argue with the simple and forthright words that speak so eloquently to purity, love and promise

Agreement Two
