Seven Steps to Success ~~ Part Two
September 26th 2006 00:31
Watched TV in bed last night and I liked it! For weeks, I've not let myself rest and enjoy a little mindless entertainment before I slept. So now I can compare and sleep was definitely better after a two-hour rest. And it's probably not my imagination that I had better energy today. I could even intelligently comment on the posts in Adrian's Philosophy Blog. No low ebb for me today.
With that, I'll re-introduce Saleem (The Irresistible Success System) Rana.
Step Two: Mental sluggishness
"The world is fast moving towards becoming entirely based on knowledge as a key economic skill. The industrial revolution, where strenuous labor was sufficient to pay the bills, is being replaced by knowledge workers. Machines and sophisticated technology are quickly replacing manual labor. In a decade or two, robotic intelligence will far outstrip the most competent human technician. Yet, all educational systems are still using the archaic factory methods of mass production and if you wish to have an intelligent mind, you will have to develop self-reliance. Ignorance, stupidity, and emotional jingoism and dogmatism have wrecked havoc on human life…and unless our species learns to value artistic and intellectual achievement, we will self-exterminate through overpopulation, pollution, epidemics, the collapse of nations, or a final war. --Saleem Rana
It sounds like we'd better start to pick ourselves up and dust outselves off unless we, too, want to become invisible.
Peace
